Answers to common questions

Do I need a special optical scanner or custom paper?

No. Any standard laser or inkjet printer prints the forms on ordinary 80g copy paper. You can scan papers with any office flatbed or document feeder scanner, or take photographs with a smartphone camera.

Which pens and pencils can students use?

Students can use any dark pencil (HB/#2) or blue/black pen. FastOMR analyzes pixel density relative to the page background. If a mark is too faint or if a student partially erased a bubble, it is routed to a visual verification screen for quick teacher review rather than misgraded.

How accurate is the computer vision recognition?

On every test run, a 40-question form is read under thirteen hard conditions — skewed, faint, dark, scanned at 100 DPI, photographed at an angle — and every time all 40 answers come out right.

Can we grade multiple booklets (A, B, C, D)?

Yes. You can configure multiple booklets with individual answer keys and question order mappings. The system reads the booklet bubble marked by the student and applies the appropriate key and penalty formulas automatically.

What happens to our students' data?

It is used only to run your exams. You decide how long it is kept, you can export or delete any student's data at any time, and every change is written to the audit log. The details are in our privacy policy.

Can we try FastOMR before paying?

Yes. The free plan reads 25 sheets a month, with no time limit. Write to us and we open your organization on it; when you are ready for real exams, we move it to Professional.
